The estate is located in an enclave of the Guadalentín Valley at the foot of the mountains behind which the sierra del Caserío Puntarrón is found. Our estate is found in an area of great agricultural wealth belonging to El Hinojar in the vicinity of Lorca, 5.9km from the estate and 10km from La Hoya, both boroughs of Lorca in the Region of Murcia. At only 13 minutes by car from the houses is the town of La Hoya where you will find various services such as supermarkets, chemists, traditional bakeries, restaurants, a petrol station, etc.
LAS MONJAS, HAVEN OF PEACE
Regarding the 100 hectares on which the estate is located and the activities that can be done there without having to move from the immediate surroundings, there is our private trail among the mountains to the edge of the estate. To access it, it is important to wear appropriate footwear and carry water. You will also be able to go on other shorter, simpler trails for walking or jogging around the estate up the hill. You can do yoga or meditate in whichever spot you find inspires peace, read a book, enjoy the sun, and have a swim in our pool in the summer months or play with the family in the children’s playground. If you like ecological agriculture, the fruits and vegetables that grow on trees and bushes of our orchard are edible, or you can see our animals from a distance.
TOTANA, POTTERY TOWN
A 25-minute drive from our estate you will be able to visit the municipality of Totana to get to know the traditions, the history and most emblematic buildings of this town: from La Bastida which has organized visits on weekends with tickets on sale on the Totana Tourism website; to its churches and chapels hosting works by important personalities such as Francisco Salzillo and González Moreno; unique 18th century baroque artworks; visit its aqueduct built a resident in the 18th century; the old pottery district of Totana; its current pottery factories in which you can enjoy a workshop and learn to make your own pieces and much more, taking in its gastronomy and fine weather. Another singular place in this beautiful city is the Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia de Mérida, the patron saint of Totana, dating back to the 13th century. It is one of the most popular places in the municipality outside the town. Located in a beautiful setting on the slopes of the Sierra Espuña 7 km from Totana and at an altitude of 600 m above sea level. It can be accessed by a road lined with pines and fields spotted with the stately homes of the last century.
LORCA, CITY OF SUN
A 30-minute drive from the estate we arrive at the city of Lorca. A city that cannot be missed if you want to visit the Region of Murcia. Emblematic, with a wealth of historical heritage, buildings and monuments, Lorca offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities and events that you will not want to miss. It will be a lasting memory for the rest of your life. This city has one of the most important castles of the Region, also known as the Fortress of the Sun. Lorca is part of the network of Jewries as a municipality in which Jewish communities lived, leaving behind their heritage and culture. Visit its museums and churches, enjoy a stroll along its avenues, its trails with rural points of interest, and its 8 km of Costa Cálida with virgin beaches in the regional park of Puntas de Calnegre. You will be able to take in its gastronomy, enjoying both traditional dishes and current Mediterranean cuisine.
Moreover, you will also find leisure activities near the estate such as Paintball Sport Totana, Kayak routes along the virgin beaches of Calnegre, pottery workshops in Totana and the multi-adventure park “La Ribera”, Lorca.
